Another Great Quote...
For all who have never seen Taking the Stage, it is a must watch! It's a reality show about these super talented kids who go to a high school for the performing arts... Well, this season, one of the girls was just broken up with so she called her friend to come over. Her friend had quite possibly the most perfect reaction. She walked into her room, hugged her friend and said,
"You need chocolate and ice cream... chocolate, ice cream and a credit card!"

Shutter Island...
Outwit, Outplay, Outlast...
Simply stated, I love Survivor. I remember watching the first season when I was in 8th grade! It's hard to believe that they are on season 20... I missed a big chunk of the show during the middle seasons, but picked up again on the season Fans vs. Favorites. Over the years I have definitely picked up my fair share of favorites. One of them in James, the grave digger who got sent home with 2 immunity idols in his pocket. Ha! James has now been on 3 seasons (counting the one he's in now), but I am absolutely confused on how he managed to get on the Heroes side. I have personally never notices anything heroic about him... Last night he went crazy on Stephanie "Keep your mouth shut!" It is very interesting since this season is Heroes vs. Villains. The Villains are completely dominating while the Heroes are imploding... I can't wait to see how this turns out!

Getty...
Last weekend I was able to spend some quality time with two of my favorite people! Jeanna and Val picked me up Saturday afternoon, and I thought we were heading to the Getty right away... well because of a small wardrobe malfunction we had to stop by the mall. The three of us simply cannot just "stop" by the mall though - so 2 1/2 hours later we finally headed out to the Getty. On our way there we got rain and hail! It was so crazy and short lived - but absolutely amazing (I can safely say that because we were comfortably in the car when it was occurring!). Parking at the Getty is free after 5, so we waited until 5 to go in. Little did we know, that 5pm is the absolute perfect time to be at the Getty. The sun was setting, the sky was clear, and it was just a perfect evening! After the Getty, we trekked to our favorite spot for tea, Urth! After a small adventure in a not great area, we arrived... what a day! Saturday was a prime example that perfect days cannot be planned!
In the words of Jeanna - "We're going to be 40 year old married women doing this."
If you look closely you can see that Hello Kitty is in fact on top of my tea latte! It took us a while to figure that one out though...

Dirty Kid...
My mom affectionately (sometimes not so affectionately) refers to me as pig pen... everywhere I am, messes tend to be as well... Unfortunately I have to admit that is true this week. I had been thinking I was missing some clothes, but could not really think of what they were. Well, I finally remembered one of the shirts that I had not seen in quite a while... so I of course blamed my parents (they used to hide clothes from me if I left them in the dryer)... as I was sorting through my laundry today I saw my suitcase and a little light bulb went off! I had packed a load of dirty clothes in my suitcase BEFORE WE MOVED! So I had not noticed these dirty missing clothes since mid October... it's mid February! Unfortunately I lived up to my nickname today...

Tennis...
This morning (well maybe it was closer to afternoon thanks to my new schedule!), my dad and I decided to go play tennis. Neither of us had played in a quite a while ( I took lessons one summer in elementary school, and took 1 semester in college), so we were a little nervous. Much to our surprise, we actually managed to do pretty well! Not to brag or anything (ha) but I remembered I have a mean backhand! It was so fun playing again, and hopefully this will become a regular occurrence!
Grammy Time...
Evertime I watch the Grammy's I wonder why. I'm not a huge music fan. I simply like what I like, and in general, I do not like the "rock star vibe" that Grammy's try so hard to achieve. I don't even generally like what they wear to the Grammy's. Everyone tries to be "edgy." Luckily Lady Gaga and my man Elton were there to entertain this year! I thought their performance was by far the best! There were 2 dresses I really liked this year as well (not counting Lady Gaga's costume... it was pretty amazing, but not classified as a pretty dress). So here's what I liked!
Of course I'm going to like Miley's dress... I just think it's fun enough for the Grammy's, but she doesn't look like a fool... Did I happen to mention that I just like her!
I'm sad to admit that I don't even know her name. She is "the girl from Glee." I thought this was dress was fun and pretty and not annoying at all!
Now I just can't wait for Oscar time! I would secretly love to have some sort of event to attend that required me to wear a gown fit for the Oscar's!
