Bright Side...

There are definitely some good things about living in the boonies. One, there are fewer people in general. Which means you don't have to fight for things. For example: a little while ago I really wanted one of those Starbucks cold cups. They were no where to be found in Orange County. I went to at least 5 Starbucks looking for one. I called my dad (who was up here at the time) and he bought 3 at the first Starbucks he went to...
Well, here's a sad but true fact... I love Blockbuster's going out of business sales. I seriously get so excited. There was one closing down by ECCU, and I hit it every other day on my way home from work. Sadly, it was so picked over by the 2nd day, I just came away with some randoms. I had spotted one going out of business up here the first day we moved. Unfortunately, yesterday was the first day I was able to go. Much to my amazement, they had EVERYTHING! Seriously. They had tons of new releases, every horror movie ever made, every video game you could want... I couldn't believe my luck! I was looking around the whole time wondering why nobody else was as excited as I was! I ended up controlling myself and only walking away with 4 movies (at 60% off!). While I did miss the fight a little, I am enjoying my new movies immensely!
Here's what I walked away with...

Sunset...

I need to stop reading Sunset magazine! Every time it comes it inspires a new crazy adventure idea... As you may already know, I don't exactly need help planning MORE crazy adventures. The other bad thing about the magazine is that it gives directions on how to make your adventures a reality. This months issue finally gave me what I needed for my VW adventure. I had no idea that you could actually rent one! What a great way to test this craziness before I commit. So I'm plotting my 25th birthday (which is only 11ish months away!)... It will involve an amazingly awesome VW bus rental, my retro thermos, 18 in 1 soap, queso, and hopefully a trip to Colorado! Let's see if this one will come to fruition.

So Looking Forward...

My anticipation is already growing... I cannot wait to see She&Him in concert with 2 very dear friends! It will be an epic night I'm sure. What to wear???

Oh The Horror...

There are few things I love more in this world than really bad horror movies. Don't get me wrong, I like the good ones too, but there is something so satisfying in watching a legitimately terrible (but fun!) movie. I've seen the worst of the worst: I Know what you did last summer, I Still Know what you did last summer, Urban Legend, Scream, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Jennifer's Body... and that's just to name a few. Well I am proud to admit that I have added another terrible horror movie to my love list. Orphan! I actually knew the "twist" going into it, so that partially ruined it. The sheer ridicularity (I think I stole that word from Shell!) of the twist makes it completely worth it though.

How cute...

We should all ride around on our bikes with giant balloons! Shell, let's do that next time we go to the park :)

Summer...

Happy first day of summer! It sure does not feel like it up here... it's a beautiful 70 degrees right now! The first thing I think of when I think of summer, is the movie Now & Then! It's basically what my summers looked like growing up... unfortunately minus Crazy Pete. I think we're going to watch it and drink sun tea to welcome in this summer!

Happy Birthday Val!!!

We've come such a long way! The above picture was taken a couple weeks ago, the below was taken our sophomore year of college (we were on our way to see Tristan & Isolde!).

Today is Val's 24th birthday! It's hard to believe we met when we were only 18 years old! Val, I feel like we've been friends my entire life. I love you so much and feel so blessed that we've spent these past 6 years truly living our life together! You're an amazing person and an even better friend! I was looking through old pictures and laughing at all our adventures and good times. I love you so much friend!

We take family pictures...

We hang out in the woods :)

She's my go-to date at events :)

One of our favorite places - Urth Cafe!

On our way to Starbucks then Joshua Radin!

Found...

I just found these pictures on my dad's computer! This is at Tri City park... oh how I miss thee. I think Henry should be one of those dogs who race through the obstacle courses... he's clearly an athlete : )

p.s. in case you were wondering - yes, that is me jumping along with Henry.

New Joshua Radin...

Cracks me up.
Love his music everytime.

The Sketchbook Tour...

This is so much fun! I'm so excited... I just found this thing called The Sketchbook Tour. Check out the website for a more in depth explanation of the tour. http://http//arthousecoop.com/projects/sketchbookproject
Basically what happens is; you sign up to receive a sketchbook. Then once you have received the sketchbook, it's your job to fill it with pretty much anything you want. When you sign up you have to pick a theme. I picked "I am a scavenger." Once you have filled your sketchbook with literally whatever you want, you send it in to go on tour. The Sketchbook Tour goes to several places around the country displaying all the sketchbooks that were sent in. And best of all, they bar code them all so you can see how many times and where your book was viewed! Check out the website, it's really awesome! I am so excited for this project!

Formal Introductions...

This weekend we are being officially introduced to the congregation. They were kind enough to wait until we all got here. Unfortunately though, that leaves me with the arduous task or finding 3 cute enough outfits (Friday night service, Saturday night service, Sunday morning)... This is what I'd like to wear...

I think I need to go do laundry now!

Summer Books...

I'm bored with the book I'm currently reading and would love some new summer reading... Because after all, nothing says summer like a mind numbing (but fun!) book list.

Robin Hood...

What a badass...

I seriously loved this movie. I didn't expect too much from it after the luke warm reviews I heard. I know people were disappointed it wasn't like the Disney version (which I love), but it was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend it. I'm also very excited that they set it up perfectly for a sequel :)
