Days Off...

Days off from work are pure bliss... I got to sleep in this morning. Other than sleeping in (which was my absolute favorite part) I got to go to lunch and the movies with the fam. We saw The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. It was way better than I originally expected... it was thought provoking and simply pleasant to watch.

On a completely random note... I really want a polaroid camera!

Just For Fun...

Quizilla...

"What type of Queen are you?"

You were Marie Antoinette, the young Austrian Princess whisked off to France to be crowned Queen. Marie Antoinette suffered much oppression and hatred from the French people because of her love of luxury. She was graceful, extravagant and loved a good party! She was a social butterfly who flitted from event to event, always in the latest fashions. She faced a lonely, friendless existence in France so she made her own fun and drew comfort from her indulgence. She had a very kind nature and was a devoted mother and giver to charity, which is a side seldom seen of this famous, misunderstood Queen who was a fashion icon as well as a monarch.

Sunday Afternoons...

I absolutely love Sunday afternoons... Today I went to church, came home and had lunch, took Henry to the park, and now I am listening to Love Story and loving life! What a great day!

p.s. I wish I was the little girl in that picture!

I Wish...

I was feeling the Christmas spirit, but I'm just not. I guess I need to do Christmassy things. Here are a couple of ideas...

1) Watch Christmas Movies

2) Decorate

3) Get a Peppermint Mocha from Starbucks

Or maybe I should just stop being hater... I would appreciate any help getting in the Christmas spirit though!

Oh Valeria...

Today Val came over after church... It's been so weird not being able to see Val everyday like we used to, but I am so thankful that we still share church so we can stay connected! Well Val was kind enough to come over to teach me to knit! We listened to music, watched This American Life, talked about James Franco... and attempted to make pumpkin scones. Actually everything was running pretty seamlessly. We had made the dough, put it on cookie sheets, and popped them in the oven. We were cleaning up when I realized it seemed a little smoky. I asked Val if it looked smoky and she said it did a little bit. It dawned on me that the scones were still in the oven so I opened the over and was greeted by clouds of smoke! The paper we had put on the cookie sheets was burned and smoking! We had to open the doors and turn on the fan. We made it out alive, and still ate our scones:) All in all it was a great day, but this incident further confirmed to me that I should never cook.

I'm Currently Reading...

Agnes Grey by Anne Bronte. I am definitely surprised at how much I am enjoying this book. In reality it is semi-mundane, but totally pleasant and very well written. I highly recommend this book!

When I grow up...

I have recently come up with some great ideas for my next career... I thought I would share a couple of the greatest ideas...

1) Petting Zoo Owner

2) Personal assistant for Ira Glass.

4) Voice on Adventures in Odyssey.

5) Starbucks Taste-Tester.

6) Any kind of critic (book, tv, movie...)

7) And of course, Stay at home friend.

If there were absolutly no limitations... What would be your unrealistic career dream???

Happy Halloween!

Here is a picture of one of my all time favorite costumes! My mom made it for me, and I seriously wore it around the house for years! I named the horse Lightning (after the horse in Wild Hearts Can't be Broken) and I would jump over things and off things... Oh it was fun:)

p.s. I think my brother was the Rocketeer that year...

Mouse Trap

I was walking over to get soy milk from the pantry the other night and I encountered a little surprise... a furry little surprise. There was a mouse sitting on the box of trashbags just looking at me. He was very cute, but I certainly did not want him near my soy milk... so I came up with an ingenious plan. I taped a trashbag the floor and a little bit up the edges of the door and proceeded to try to scare him with a stick! It took several attempts and some team work, but the mouse ran into the trashbag and we captured him! I fell a little bad about throwing a live mouse away, but all in all I'm pretty impressed with myself:) Who knew that I was an inventor:) (or am I just pest control?)

Last friday I got a chance to go see Nick and Norah's Infiite Playlist with Shell and Tessa. It was so much fun. Tessa and I said it made us want to go on an adventure... but I think everyone should go see it! You'll never look at gum the same again:)

Stress?

I absolutely never thought I would ever hava a job that was stressful! I fully do not know what I expected, but certainly not this. I enjoy the enviornment and the people I work with, but stress??? Those of you who knew me in college are probably cracking up right now because I think this may be the first time I have been stressed. I can honestly say I have never felt like more of a grown up... I'm not sure I like it!

To quote Greys Anatomy....

"We're adults. When did that happen? And how can we make it stop?"

Simple Pleasures...

Here are a couple of things that i am so enjoying right now...

Anticipation...

... tonight is the season finale of Project Runway! I cannot wait to see who wins!

Nostalgia...

I should apologize in advance, because I am in full fledged nostalgia mode! Here is why: On Saturday, my mom and I went to Disneyland to renew our passes. As we were leaving we randomly ran into some dear friends of ours from Virginia! It was honestly so amazing, but so surprising! None of us expected this to happen, so we were all literally speechless! The reason they were here is because one of their daughters, Molly, is in the Marines and she is going to Iraq tomorrow. She is living in San Diego right now, so her family came to see her off. Please keep Molly in your prayers. Well I have also recently learned how to scan pictures into the computer, so I'm going to post some old and some new!

This me and Molly in highschool (we've known them since I was in 3rd grade!)

This is us at Dland on Saturday!

This is Molly, Ashton, and myself. I have some of the greatest memories with these girls!

Blessed

Waking up this morning and going to work was unusually hard... not only had i stayed up all night reading... I had just spent an amazing weekend with 4 amazing girls.  Sunday I went to LA with my 4 besties from college.  We had an amazing time (like always).  This morning I realized that we would never go to school together again... that everything was changing.  It made me really nostalgic... It also made me so happy that none of us had really changed.  We were able to get in the flow of things seamlessly!  I love you girls so much and I am so excited for this next chapter in our friendship!!!  God had truly blessed us!

Why I am tired...

Last night I finished the book Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.  It was seriously an amazing book.  I finished it last night at like 1:30, but I  sat in bed and cried for about half on hour after that.  Then I could not sleep.  I have never been so affected by a book.  My heart actually hurt, and I have been thinking about it all day today.  I know my description probably does not make you want to run out and buy this book... but it's worth it.

The Epitome of Laziness

Last night I was watching this show about serial killers who have never been caught.  I wouldnt say it scared me, but it definitely stuck with me.  Here is an example.  I was out for a walk tonight when this scary man in a scary truck approached me.  He asked me where the country club was.  I misdirected him (not on purpose, I just shouldnt try to give people directions.)  I was pretty close to home at this point, and I was not moving particularly fast (which is fairly common), when I had flashbacks of the serial killer show.  This one killer, stalked prostitutes who walked around the city at night.  I realize I don't really fit the profile, but it got me scared enough to speed it up!  I walked home so quickly because I was positive he was following me... every set of headlights I saw I walked a little faster.  The moral of the story is... in order for me to get any amount of substantial exercise,  I need to be afraid for me life!  How sad it that.
